As the merger talks between the PGA Tour and the Public Investment Fund (PIF) rolls on, the world of golf remains divided. With the PGA Tour’s new season up and running, their rivals, LIV Golf on Tuesday revealed the schedule for the 2025 season.

Last year, the 54-hole circuit presented 12 regular events from 8 countries. Apart from that there were two final events – The Individual Championship and The Team Championship, which helped determined the individual champion and the team champions of the 2024 season.

This year, the breakaway tour will kick off its season in Saudi Arabia. The first event, scheduled to take place from February 6th to 8th, will be held in Riyadh. A week later, the tour will return to Adelaide, Australia again.

Unlike the other venues, Adelaide has produced some huge numbers for LIV Golf in the past. In 2023, the LIV Golf Adelaide event won the Best Golf Event of 2023 at the World Golf Awards.

The 2025 season will also see LIV Golf return to the Trump Doral course in Miami, Florida. This course is owned by President-elect Donald Trump. The 78-year-old is a huge fan of golf and has supported the Saudi-backed league. There are chances that he could be seen during the LIV Golf Miami event from April 4th to 6th.

In addition, they will also play events in Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

LIV Golf takes direct shot at PGA Tour with schedule reveal

Despite LIV Golf and PGA Tour signing a “framework agreement” there seems to be still some animosity between them. While releasing the schedule for the 2025 season, LIV Golf seems to have taken a direct shot at the PGA Tour.

The final three events of the LIV Golf will go head-to-head with the PGA Tour events. The last three events of the PIF-backed league will take place in the United States when the FedEx Cup playoffs will begin in August.

The last event of the LIV Golf season – The Team Championship, will be held while the PGA Tour presents the Tour Championship. Previously, LIV Golf would conclude their season in September, a few weeks after the regular season of the PGA Tour comes to an end.

Apart from this, four LIV events will compete directly with three signature events of the PGA Tour and the iconic, The Players Championship. Does this mean the world of golf will remain divided? Only time will tell when the sport actually “unite” with the merger going through.
