Premier League 2020-21: Liverpool vs Leeds United

Liverpool vs Leeds United ends 4-3 in the Premier League. First Half goals from Salah and Van Dijk saw Liverpool leading in the first half. Mohamed Salah scored in the second half from the spot for the winner.
A fantastic performance from Leeds United. They fell marginally short at the home of the champions. Marcelo Bielsa’s men can put their heads up. The match saw some brilliant attacking play from the newly promoted side. They proved more than a match for Liverpool.
First Half
The first half was electric to say the least. Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 6th minute. He has scored in the first match of Liverpool for the last 4 seasons. However Leeds reacted quickly enough.
A fluid Leeds move saw the ball in the back of the Liverpool net. Harrison scores to make it 1-1. Then Van Dijk restored Liverpool’s lead. A lovely corner from Robertson saw the defender climb high. Mane did well to hold of Koch.
However Leeds reacted again. Van Dijk made a silly mistake only for Bamford to tap it in past Alisson. But the Leeds resilience didn’t last long. Mohamed Salah scored a scorcher. A volley right into to the top corner. An incredible goal to put Liverpool in front.
Second Half
Klich brought Leeds to level terms once again. A lovely spread out ball. He then made a diagonal run into the box to be picked out by Helder Costa. A controlled finish past Alisson.
However Liverpool had the final say. A sloppy penalty given away by Rodrigo as Fabinho goes down. Mo Salah steps up to slot it in the left side. A hat-trick for the Egyptian. A spirited performance from Leeds. But Liverpool too good. Full time Liverpool 4-3 Leeds United.
