After a comprehensive victory over Chelsea in the Premier League, table-toppers Liverpool have the difficult task of making the trip to the Emirates on Sunday. Despite sitting on a one-point lead, the Reds will have to give it their all against Mikel Arteta‘s men for fear of Manchester City taking the lead. However, things won’t be easy for Arne Slot and co. as the boss confirmed that Diogo Jota will miss the fixture.
The Portuguese striker was forced off the pitch against Chelsea with an injury in their 2-1 win. This also kept him from featuring for the club in a narrow 1-0 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League earlier this week. In a press conference ahead of the game, Arne Slot stated that the striker is yet to recover from the setback.

Arsenal will also be playing in the absence of several players including Bukayo Saka, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber, who are in a race against time to be fit. A loss for Liverpool will put the Gunners above their rivals.
Liverpool risk ‘losing’ Federico Chiesa back to Italy amidst poor start
Federico Chiesa hasn’t had the best of starts to his career at Liverpool. The former Juventus man joined the Reds in the summer for a massive bargain of €12 million. Despite the seemingly unbelievable price tag, recent performances and lack of fitness have prevented the player from making room for himself in the starting lineup.
Arne Slot shed light on the player’s situation at the club, with him pointing to the lack of a proper pre-season as the root of all his problems. Chiesa hasn’t even played a combined 90 minutes for Liverpool, and has managed to pick up an assist in September against West Ham United.

The club will also have to make do with back-up keeper Caoimhin Kelleher, as Alison Becker remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.
