The defeat leaves Man City win-less in seven consecutive matches in all competitions, having lost six out of those. The defending EPL champions are now in 5th position on the table, with just 23 points from 12 matches.

Liverpool, on the other hand, stand tall on top, with an 11 point lead over their rivals. They also hold a nine point lead over second-placed Arsenal, putting them in a pole position in the EPL title. The Reds, under new manager Arne Slot, have enjoyed a brilliant season, having won 18 out of 20 matches.

Meanwhile, the match ended with an interesting confrontation between Man City boss Pep Guardiola and Liverpool fans. The Spaniard manager responded to the fans chanting that he would be ‘sacked in the morning’, by lifting his fingers to indicate that he has won six EPL titles.

Ruben Dias shares bold message following Manchester City’s sixth defeat of the season

Dias started the match against Liverpool. However, he was dispossessed in the 78th minute by Darwin Nunez, which ultimately led to a penalty.

Despite the setback, the defender insisted that he saw plenty of character from his team against the Reds. He suggested that Man City can turn their form around, while also highlighting their rich legacy. Dias added that the club can then return to challenge for the EPL title.

I saw a lot of character today and that is something that gives me a good feeling… We’ve won so much and still we are where we are and this happens. It is more about building and building the legacy.
