Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has surprisingly been allowed to depart the Egypt national team camp earlier than expected, owing to poor pitch conditions. The 32-year-old will not feature for the national team on its trip to Mauritania.
The ‘Pharaohs’ have decided to rest their captain, Mohamed Salah, for their upcoming AFCON qualifier against low-ranked Mauritania. He has been granted permission to return to England, cutting short his international break to just one match.
Salah had netted a goal against Mauritania in Cairo last week during a 2-0 win, extending their lead on top of the group B qualification table to six points. Egypt now leads the group with nine points, ahead of Cape Verde, Mauritania, and Botswana.
Egypt boss Hossam Hassan had publicly stated that he would allow the Liverpool ace to depart early, owing to the poor conditions of the artificial turf at the Boidiya stadium. He also added that he could not risk his star player getting injured during the match due to the playing style of the rivals.
[?] NEW: Mo Salah could be out the next game for Egypt against Mauritania. Hossam Hassan the head coach of national team confirmed that he will let him go back to Liverpool if Salah asked, because of the poor condition of the pitch in Mauritania.

Meanwhile, Salah’s injury-free return to Anfield will be a major boost for Liverpool manager Arne Slot, added by the return of club captain Virgil van Dijk. The Egyptian has continued with his great form under Slot, having already scored six goals and five assists in ten matches this season.
Liverpool target Borussia Dortmund winger as Mohamed Salah’s successor
Liverpool have sent scouts to keep tabs on Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who is being eyed as a replacement for Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah. The Reds are hoping to make a move for the 20-year-old forward next summer.
The versatile left-winger has scored four goals and provided an assist in nine matches for the Bundesliga giants. Clubs throughout Europe are keeping an eye on the forward. Gittens, having come through the Manchester City academy, is also being targeted by Chelsea and Tottenham.
However, the 20-year-old left winger would not be a perfect replacement for Salah, who is in the last year of his contract at the club. He would be an accurate replacement for Luis Daz though, with the Colombian linked with a move to Barcelona
