Liverpool have an early chance of catching up with Manchester United and cutting down their lead to zero as the latter travels to Anfield tomorrow. Liverpool knows that anything less than a win would mean that Manchester United will hold on to their lead at the top while they will be forced to play catch-up again. Jurgen Klopp’s men will be buzzing for a team that is not afraid of playing attacking football and this might just be the time for Liverpool’s glorious counter-attacking football to return.
Preview of the match
Liverpool would have been frustrated with the results of their last three matches as their opponents were dead afraid of even venturing forward to score. West Bromwich Albion, Newcastle United and Southampton all sat back and didn’t even dare to attack Liverpool and it worked to perfection for them. The first two got a point against the reigning PL Champions and the latter got three points against them. Liverpool will be looking to get back to their winning ways soon enough to continue the defence of their Premier League title.
Manchester United have put together an impressive string of victories to surpass Liverpool on the points table and take a lead at this stage. The players have started to gel together and are performing as a unit cohesively. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has a good batch of players under him now and will be looking to mount a title challenge now. They will be looking to challenge Liverpool till the end of the season and make them earn the title of recurring champions.
