TEAMTalk has reported that Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Jorrel Hato for quite some time and want to sign the player from Ajax. It’s not just Liverpool; Chelsea and Real Madrid have also displayed their interest in the talent. The report also stated that Ajax want to sell him for €30 million. Liverpool are the most interested in him and want to beat the competition to secure his signing.
Jorrel Hato has been one of the best young defenders during his tenure at Ajax. He has performed really well for the side this season, despite the inconsistent performances of the side. Hato has conceded 15 goals and kept seven clean sheets in 17 matches in the Eredivisie 2024/2025 season. That means when Hato is on the pitch, his team conceded a goal every 93 minutes.
Moreover, he’s made 2.40 tackles and 0.78 interceptions for every 90 minutes he was on the pitch. Hato is also racking up about 1.56 clearances at the same time. The development of Hato in the Ajax team has earned him a spot in the national team as well. His performances have piqued the attention of multiple high-profile clubs.
Liverpool are in need of centre-backs given that their main defender and captain, Virgil van Dijk, is already at the twilight of his career, and also has entered the last six months of his contract. Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez have suffered with consistent injuries during their spell at Liverpool. Hence, the Anfield side want Hato.
Arne Slot’s side will be trying to give their all to bring Hato to Anfield. The €30 million price tag is well within their reach, and if the Reds do sign Hato, it will be one of their best signings that could serve them for years.
Liverpool and Chelsea have displayed their interest in El Hadji Malick Diouf
Slavia Prague chairman of the board Jaroslav Tvrdik has stated that Liverpool and Chelsea have officially communicated their interest in the 20-year-old wingback El Hadji Malick Diouf. He also added that Crystal Palace had come up with a second offer of £14.3 million, but Prague have rejected the offer.
Jaroslav Tvrdik admitted that the Czech league and Slavia Prague have limits and the players of good quality will eventually decide to leave. This will happen when big clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool express interest. As such, the chairman assured that the club will perform in the interest of the player if other clubs can table a decent offer.
If Liverpool and Chelsea, who were also interested in him, had come with an offer of around 17-18 million euros, I would have hesitated to approach it differently from the perspective of promoting the club or the player’s interest. If Chelsea comes, we wouldn’t keep anyone. Nothing will change, it’s just not possible objectively.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool and Chelsea do continue with their interest on the player. However, Crystal Palace will definitely come up with one more bid for the player. They were short by a couple of millions in terms of evaluation. An improved offer might tempt Tvrdik to sell the talented youngster.
