‘Liverpool will be there’: Rio Ferdinand believes Jurgen Klopp’s men will secure top four
Liverpool
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has said that he believes Liverpool will be able to secure UEFA Champions League football through top four place.
The Reds have fallen miserably in their defence of the title after losing six straight matches at their home. However the recent victory against Arsenal over the weekend will instill some hope back.
Rio Ferdinand says Liverpool will finish ahead of Chelsea
Liverpool were handed out a huge boost as rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur both lost points. The Blues were defeated dramatically in a 5-2 defeat to West Bromwich Albion at home and then Tottenham Hotspur drew to Newcastle United.
These results mean that Chelsea are currently just 2 points ahead of Liverpoolband this small margin can definitely be overcome. All of Liverpool, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are currently on level points -49.
Brendan Rodgers’s Leicester City too lost to current leaders Manchester City but they still have a seven points lead over Liverpool. Manchester United and Leicester City seem to have secured the remaining places after Manchester City and only one place is available for contention.
The result they got at the weekend, the performance and the confidence that will give that team.
‘Fabinho back as well is a huge, huge, huge difference. Ijust think Liverpool with how they’ve been in the last two seasons they have that know-how, that nous to go and put a run of results together.
Out of Chelsea, Leicester, Liverpool and Spurs, the team who could go on a six, seven, eight-game run [of wins], I think Liverpool are that team.
