Diogo Jota missed 3 months of football for Liverpool through an injury picked up in October against Midtjylland in the Champions League. On his return now he has 6 goals- which is more than what Timo Werner, Kevin de Bruyne and Anthony Martial scored this whole season. Jota has proven to be an able player who had forced Jurgen Klopp to break-up his front three in order to accommodate the former. Liverpool have missed him equally as much as they have missed Virgil van Dijk.
Jurgen Klopp has a team in his hands and now should turn around their terrible fortunes

Liverpool have had a terrible 2021 and slipped from 1st place to 6th place because of numerous losses. Their home form has come into scrutiny after 68 games unbeaten was followed by 6 consecutive losses at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp had to field the same players over and over as injuries mounted, which overstressed the uninjured players too. As a result, the team was chopped and changed every week. This caused a lack of rhythm in the team and it led to the team not playing cohesively as a unit.
With the return of Diogo Jota to the front line and Fabinho to the midfield along with Ozan Kabak and Nathaniel Phillips playing good together, Jurgen Klopp has a good team in his hands. Diogo Jota stressed on this and said that as a team they should concentrate now on themselves and not what happens around them. He believed that his team has a chance to qualify for the Champions League next season as 9 games still remain.
Winning the remaining 9 games will give them a chance at qualifying without them having to do it the hard way- by winning the Champions League.
