Super Bowl’s half-time show is considered one of the most anticipated events in the country but this season’s Super Bowl will be missing one special performance by Lil Wayne.
In an emotional state of mind, the prominent American rapper shared a social media post recently announcing the upset news about him being snubbed off the half-time show of the Super Bowl 2025. Roe Nation and Apple Music named Kendrick Lamar as the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime show headliner, replacing Wayne.
Wayne announced that he has not been selected to perform at the Super Bowl next year, a few days later. He revealed being devastated by this news, saying it “hurts a lot.”
That hurt. It hurt a lot. You know what I'm talking about. It hurt a whole lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for just automatically, mentally putting myself in that position. So I blame myself for that, but I thought there was nothing better than that — that spot, on that stage, and that platform, in my city.Lil Wayne said on IG
During such a tough time for Wayne, one good thing happened to the “Love Me” rapper, which was realizing the loyalty of his fans. When Lamar’s news was officially announced, Wayne received huge support from his fans along with his friends and family.

In his emotional Instagram post, he also expressed gratitude for all the love and support he has been receiving from the fans. Wayne blamed himself for losing the halftime show gig, saying he felt like he had disappointed his fans and his loved ones by losing this opportunity.
I had to get strength enough to do this without breaking. I'mma say thank you to every voice, every opinion, all the care, all the love, and the support out there. Your words turned into to arms and held me up when I tried to fall back. It made me feel like shit, not getting this, this opportunity.Lil Wayne on IG
The reason why the rapper feels broken after his news is because he previously admitted on YG’s 4Hunnid podcast that he expressed a strong desire to perform at Super Bowl LIX, which is reportedly said to take place in his hometown, New Orleans. However, he admitted that he is yet to receive a call about this, though he was confident since it was going to take place his city.
