On the latest edition of SmackDown, LA Knight called out Logan Paul ahead of their MITB qualifier. However, he was interrupted by the third participant, Santos Escobar. The Megastar took care of the Latino Superstar before he suffered an ambush at the hands of Paul. As such, the latter has broken his silence on his sneak attack.

The Maverick took to X to gloat and mock Knight following the segment on SmackDown. Without doubt, the former TNA star won’t be pleased at all with how the YouTuber-turned-wrestler attacked him. For weeks, Knight has been calling out the United States Champion on television. Despite that, Paul repeatedly asserted that the 41-year-old was not on his level, referring to him as a “mid-carder.”

Tensions flared when Knight invaded the social media star’s place in Puerto Rico. After a series of back-and-forth jabs, the two will finally come across the ring on next week’s SmackDown. In the aforementioned Money in the Bank qualifying match, a triple threat bout involving Escobar will take place.

Interestingly, all three stars participated in last year’s edition. During the build up to the event, LA Knight and Logan Paul crossed paths for the first time, engaging in a verbal battle against each other. Since then, fans have been clamoring for a singles match between the two. Having said that, the eventual blowoff to the rivalry isn’t that far ahead, as they are rumored to finally square off at SummerSlam.

Logan Paul recently surpassed 200 days as United States Champion

At Crown Jewel 2023, Logan Paul won his first singles title in WWE. The social media star defeated Rey Mysterio to become the new United States Champion. However, he has only defended the championship on two occasions since winning it, one of which was a DQ win over Kevin Owens.

After surpassing the 200-day mark recently, Paul responded to the criticism regarding the lack of title defenses. He claimed that he aspired to work smarter and not harder; hence, he defends the title sporadically.

In his last championship bout, The Maverick emerged victorious against Owens and Randy Orton at WrestleMania XL. Now that it has been more than two months since then, his third defense might be coming sooner rather than later. As mentioned above, Paul is headed for a marquee match against LA Knight.
