After weeks of back-and-forth jabs, Logan Paul and LA Knight finally came face-to-face in the ring. On the latest episode of SmackDown, Paul signed the contract for their SummerSlam, making their bout official for the PLE. However, the two men couldn’t resist mocking each other. Tensions flared as The Maverick questioned the legitimacy of the #1 contender for the United States Championship.
Paul claimed that Knight was a bodybuilder with a catchphrase who impersonated The Rock. Unfazed by this, The Megastar called out the United States Champion for repeating the same insults. Moreover, he vowed to dethrone Paul at SummerSlam and take the title away from him. After the latter inked the deal, he drew a map on the contract, revealing that it was a map to for Knight to find where he could stick his dreams of becoming a WWE champion.
This time, the former TNA star got agitated as the pair had to be separated by GM Nick Aldis. Moments later, Logan Paul ran back into the ring to ambush his rival. However, Knight recovered and hit a BFT on the social media star. With their match finally confirmed, the year-long feud will culminate at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

The 41-year-old hasn’t hesitated before to express his frustration with not being able to win a singles title. With that said, this bout for the United States Championship will be his best opportunity to finally claim gold in WWE. As such, fans will have to wait a couple of weeks to see whether Knight walks out of Cleveland Browns Stadium with the championship.
LA Knight will battle Santos Escobar on next week’s edition of SmackDown
After the heated segment, LA Knight bumped into Santos Escobar and the rest of Legado del Fantasma backstage. The leader of the faction confronted Knight and was confused as to why he wasn’t the one receiving a title shot instead. The Megastar told Escobar that if he had a problem with him, they should deal with it in the ring.
Later in the show, a match between the two was announced for next week’s episode of SmackDown. It is to be noted that the show will be pre-taped as WWE will be in Japan for their summer tour. Nonetheless, Knight will feel he’ll have a point to prove after the segment with Logan Paul.
Since winning the title at Crown Jewel, The Maverick has only defended his belt on two occasions. In fact, he hasn’t put his championship on the line in four months. Paul explained the lack of title defenses by saying that he prefers to work smart rather than hard.
