This week’s SmackDown from Dublin, Ireland, ended with Logan Paul sneak attacking John Cena. Just as GM Nick Aldis was about to inform the Peacemaker star about the conversation he’s had with Brock Lesnar, ‘The Maverick’ blindsided Cena with a sucker punch. It was a little payback for Paul after he succumbed to Cena’s relentless verbal assault earlier in the show.
‘The Cenation Leader’ slammed the Westlake-born influencer for leveraging WWE as a branding opportunity. The 17-time world champion then lashed out at Paul for bragging about the amount of work he has put into WWE for the last four years. The IMPAULSIVE host has wrestled a total of 23 matches. Cena, in response, said he’s given his heart and soul to this business for that many years.
Cena quipped that when he battled Sheamus in Dublin in 2010, Paul was making Vine videos with his brother Jake. ‘The Franchise Player’ singled out the biggest difference between him and the newlywed social media icon, which was their respective approaches to the business of pro wrestling. Cena stated that every time he steps in the ring, he stresses over what he could add to the business, while saying Paul does the exact opposite by sucking things out of it.

The 48-year-old actor expressed disappointment over the fact that he hasn’t been able to wrestle the likes of Dominik Mysterio, AJ Styles, The Usos, Jacob Fatu, etc., because he’s stuck with ‘The Maverick’. At last, Cena asked the former US Champion to bring his A-game on August 31 at Clash in Paris, or else he’d be in for a long night. Cena then hit Paul with an Attitude Adjustment to close the segment.
John Cena recently hailed Logan Paul as an underrated wrestler
While John Cena may have verbally disintegrated Logan Paul last night, ‘The Prototype’ does see a bright future for the YouTuber as a WWE wrestler. Speaking at a recent fan expo in Chicago, ‘Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect’ disagreed with the overrated sentiment for Paul and claimed he’s rather underrated in a surprising admission. Cena said he believes the 30-year-old gets a ton of bad reputation as well.

Addressing his upcoming clash with Paul, Cena affirmed that he’s not going to phone it in while preparing for ‘The Maverick’. It was quite an endorsement spree for the erstwhile boxer from the so-called ‘Babe Ruth of WWE’. With Cena locked in to make every single date of the remainder of his farewell tour count, he’s bound to produce some magic every time he enters through those ropes.
The erstwhile Dr. of Thuganomics just wrestled his second-only five-star-rated match in WWE at SummerSlam. Even though he dropped the WWE title to Cody Rhodes, it was hailed as Cena’s greatest in-ring performance in many years. At the aforementioned fan expo, Cena said it reignited the fire in him.
John Cena’s last WWE match has an official date
As many had presumed, John Cena will indeed have his last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. It was confirmed through a press release by NBC Sports, where it revealed that WWE has struck a multi-year agreement with Peacock to exclusively live stream SNME four times a year.

It’ll no longer be simulcast on NBC, meaning the iconic wrestling series will leave network television for now. The soon-to-retire icon in Cena has stated on record that he doesn’t want to dwell on who he gets to wrestle with in his last-ever WWE match. Some fans are starting to believe that the Ricky Stanicky star might get into the crosshairs of Drew McIntyre based on the direction WWE is going in of late.

Last night on SmackDown, the Scot bestowed some people talk on Logan Paul by downplaying the mystique of Cena. McIntyre told the PRIME co-founder that it’s not 2010 anymore, and it’s Paul who’s in his prime, not a 50-approaching Hollywood star. ‘The Scottish Warrior’ asked ‘The Maverick’ to do whatever it took to take down Cena.
