Lonzo Ball gives unfiltered opinion to brother LiAngelo on possible NBA future
Chicago Bulls star Lonzo Ball gave his honest thoughts on brother LiAngelo Ball's possible future in the NBA.
Lonzo Ball shares brutally honest advice to brother LiAngelo Ball
The Ball brothers have always been a captivating basketball story, rising to fame with immense hype and high expectations. While Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball became NBA lottery picks, LiAngelo Ball’s path has been far less straightforward.
Appearing together on Angel Reese’s podcast, Lonzo Ball offered his younger brother a brutally honest assessment of his chances in the NBA. He didn’t sugarcoat his thoughts, stating that LiAngelo’s NBA window might have already passed.
Reflecting on the trajectory of his brother’s career, he suggested that LiAngelo explore opportunities overseas rather than continue to fight for a spot in the G League, where competition remains fierce and opportunities are limited.

Lonzo’s words, though direct, came from a place of genuine care and guidance. As the eldest sibling, he recognizes the importance of helping out his younger sibling, the 26-year-old LiAngelo, who needs to face some hard truths about his troubled basketball journey so far.
For LiAngelo, whose G League career averages stand at 4.4 points and 1.1 rebounds, the road to the NBA is an uphill battle. Lonzo’s suggestion to focus on playing overseas would seem to be a more pragmatic approach.
Several players have revitalized their careers internationally, using those experiences to develop their skills, rebuild confidence, and potentially garner attention from NBA scouts down the line. Players like PJ Tucker and Dante Exum are prime examples of role players in the NBA with similar career trajectories.
Lonzo Ball makes long-awaited return to Chicago Bulls
While Lonzo Ball’s guidance to his brother dominated headlines, his return to the Chicago Bulls lineup this week was significant for NBA fans. The star guard, sidelined for nearly a month with a wrist sprain, returned to action in the Bulls’ 133-119 road loss to the Orlando Magic.
Playing 14 minutes, Lonzo posted six points, three assists, four steals, and two blocks, showing flashes of his trademark two-way impact. The return comes after a challenging few years for Lonzo Ball, who has battled persistent injuries since joining the Bulls in 2021.

Before his latest setback, the 27-year-old had just come back from an extended absence due to leg injuries that sidelined him for most of the 2022-23 season. The Bulls, currently holding an 8-12 record, are struggling to find consistency this season.
While Lonzo’s presence is a welcome boost, Chicago remains in the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference, far from the dominant form they envisioned after acquiring him in a sign-and-trade deal with New Orleans. Their next matchup against the Boston Celtics in the NBA Cup offers an opportunity to test their mettle against one of the league’s best teams.
