Los Angeles Lakers’ Assistant Coach recreates 2019-20 championship parade in NBA 2K21
Los Angeles Lakers did everything possible to honour to their legend and inspiration Kobe Bryant who passed away earlier this year. Winning their 17th Championship with major roles from their marquee players Lebron James and Anthony Davis. As the pandemic shifted the entire game in a bio safety bubble at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. Assistant Coach Phil Handy could not control his excitement. As he recreated what it would be like for the Lakers to lift the championship among the Lon Angeles people.
Although ever since the season restarted from July 30, Lakers took their time to resurrect their authority on court. But once they started it would one team after the other who kept falling like bricks. Every championship-winning team usually holds a parade where the fans come out and cheer with the team.
The team gets on a bus and usually takes the trophy around the city showing it to the fans. But given the conditions this year, such a scenario was not possible.
Phil Handy overjoyed with Lakers 17th Championship
Handy created a player and played through an entire season in MyCareer to get to the championship parade at the end. He is enjoying the off-season break and has the time to grind through a season of MyCareer to have this small visceral experience.
It is very unlikely that we see the team get their championship parade. If the season starts in December, the Lakers literally don’t have the time to have a parade. It will be odd for them to have a championship parade after a season has already started or at the end of the next season. Doing that will be especially hard, as there could be new champions at the end of next season.
It seems that playing it on 2K is the best way for the Lakers and their fans to experience a championship parade. That happening looks extremely unlikely in the real world considering how things are transpiring.
