“My love for wrestling has grown exponentially throughout the years”, shares Goldberg
Goldberg hated his time on WCW

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg didn’t have a lot of love for the wrestling industry, when he worked with WCW. But he mentioned that over the years, the feelings have changed.

Goldberg has been one of the most polarizing wrestlers to the WWE Universe. He is either loved or hated. There seems to be no point in between. His past comments regarding the industry could be the reason for the polarizing response that he receives from the WWE Universe.

Fans did not appreciate that Goldberg criticized the industry that made him a global star. Goldberg discussed his past comments in great detail on WWE Network’s latest documentary, ‘Goldberg at 54’.

Goldberg’s views on professional wrestling have changed

Goldberg was last seen in a match against Drew McIntyre

Wrestling fans are well aware of the fact that Goldberg did not enjoy his time on WCW. He brought the same feelings to WWE, when he joined the company in 2003. This led to Goldberg being away from the industry for over a decade, before returning in 2016.

It’s been a weird deal, the wrestling. It’s because my love of it has grown exponentially throughout the years… I didn’t appreciate it as much as I do now when I got in it by any stretch. So it gives me a completely different perspective. I wish I would have had this perspective on it back in the day, but then again, I wouldn’t have been Goldberg. I guess there’s a reason why things happen and there’s a reason why you are the person that you are because you’re a product of your environment.”

Over the last few years, Goldberg’s perspective towards the industry has changed. He continues to appear in two WWE matches every year. Goldberg was last seen at WWE Royal Rumble, where he lost to Drew McIntyre. He is still contracted for one more match in 2021, which could be at Wrestlemania 37.
