AS Roma fans were left both astonished and impressed after club forward Paulo Dybala rejected a massive €75 million offer from a Saudi club. The 30-year-old has chosen to remain at Roma, despite recent exit rumors.
Paulo Dybala will remain in Serie A and compete for a starting spot against the club’s new signings Artem Dovbyk and Matias Soule. He announced his decision to not depart the club on social media, by sharing a message that hinted at his possible involvement in Roma’s next match against Empoli, next Sunday. He has reportedly turned down a lucrative three-year offer from Al-Qadsiah, worth over €75 million, divided over €20 million each year.
The 30-year-old forward’s commitment to the Italian side was greeted with relief by fans, who initially opposed his transfer. Being an an important player for Roma, he had scored 34 goals and provided 18 assists in 78 matches over the past two seasons.
Dybala is already in the final year of his three-year long contract he signed after joining from Juventus in 2022. However, a special clause might allow automatic contract extension, if the forward makes at least 15 appearances this season. This will definitely ensure his prolonged stay at the club.

Had Dybala accepted the offer from newly promoted Saudi side Al-Qadsiah, he would have joined Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nacho, and Nahitan Nandez. The club made several attempts to secure a transfer for the veteran Serie A forward, but all were unsuccessful.

There has been a significant number of players moving to the middle-east over the past few seasons, owing to massive financial incentives and wages. Paulo Dybala could have gone down the same route as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Neymar Jr., but chose against it, and turned down the advances.
