LSU WR Kyren Lacy wanted by police for charges of negligent homicide of 78-year-old ex-Marine
The Louisiana State Police are searching Kyren Lacy, who announced for the NFL draft in December after causing a crash that resulted in the death of a former Marine.

The Louisiana State Police are searching for former LSU Tigers star wide receiver Kyren Lacy. An arrest warrant was issued against the 24-year-old Lacy for felony charges stemming from a December 17, 2024, car crash that killed a former Marine.
According to reports from WAFB, Lacy drove a 2023 Dodge Charger south on LA Highway 20 on December 17. He reportedly recklessly passed multiple vehicles at high speeds in a designated no-passing zone. State troopers released eyewitness accounts of Lacy Dodge causing an accident soon after.
Despite the crash, Kyren Lacy sped away without checking on the passengers of the damaged vehicles or contacting the proper authorities for any kind of medical assistance.

A 78-year-old former Marine named Herman Hall of Thibodaux, LA was seriously injured in the accident. He died in the hospital shortly after.
Kyren Lacy’s agent statement regarding police searching for his client in potential homicide
Lacy spent five seasons of college football with the LSU Tigers. He caught 162 passes for 2,360 yards and scored 26 touchdowns and won five bowl games (First Responder Bowl in 2020, New Orleans Bowl in 2021, Citrus Bowl in 2023, ReliaQuest Bowl, and Texas Bowl in 2024).
Following the Tigers 2024 season in which he caught 58 passes for 866 yards and scored 9 touchdowns, Lacy declared for the draft.
If anyone noticed the date of the post, they would realize Lacy made the announcement two days after the car crash. The University of Louisiana released a statement regarding the hit and run.
Lacy has yet to turn himself into the police so that they can quickly begin the investigation process. Scouts around the league believe the incident might impact Lacy’s draft position. He was a solid late second-round or early third-round pick before the crash.
