The streamer who was considered to be the golden boy of Twitch turned heads when he suddenly announced his move to YouTube Gaming. Looking back now, it seems that Ludwig took the right decision as most of the streamers have been making the same decision now.
Even though he is a YouTuber now, his popularity has not suffered on Twitch as he was able to become a crowd-puller at TwitchCon 2022. The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the biggest content creators right now, but this success didn’t come to him overnight. Reminiscing his career from scratch, the streamer talked about how he started his career as a comedian.
“I did comedy in college for like a couple of years at Arizona State and then I moved to LA because I had a job interview at a magazine but then I thought I would do comedy, but turned out it’s really hard to pay the bills.”
Things took a different turn when one of his friends started a podcast on Twitch and he joined him, a decision which went ahead to change his life. The seeds of his streaming career were sown then but he decided to turn it into full-time streaming if he had “10K USD” in his bank account.
Ludwig further explained that he decided to become a full-time streamer even though he wasn’t able to procure the target amount. Simultaneously working at a vape company, he started watching streams regularly and thought about content for 9 hours and he ended up with 4 hours for actual streaming.

Addressing some personal tasks he does over a day, Ludwig described how he has been making money ever since he became a YouTuber. He stated that the platform writes him big fat paychecks and the rest of the money is assured from sponsorships as well as merch and items that he sells.
His last venture ‘Offbrand’ has been quite successful as their first product i.e. the show with xQc turned out to be a Twitch-hit-breaking record viewership for xQc.
