Unfortunately, injuries are an inseparable part of pro wrestling, as they go hand-in-hand owing to the physically draining aspect of that realm. WWE hasn’t had the best of years, with its top stars on the sidelines, including CM Punk. And, the most recent one being Ludwig Kaiser. He was written off television following his match with Bron Breakker, wherein the former broke his ribs.

Back on the June 24th edition of Monday Night Raw, the German wrestler locked horns with the Steiner descendant. And as per Kaiser, within a minute or two into the matchup, he had an abrupt landing. Knowing something was amiss, the 34-year-old told Metro in a recent interview that he felt right away his ribs were broken. As a result, he couldn’t even breathe, neither could move well.

Despite taking a heavy toll on his upper body, the Imperium member continued the match and actually gave Bron a run for his money. During the closing moments of that slugfest, Sheamus, launching himself off the barricade, nailed Ludwig by a knee strike. The Celtic Warrior was about to deliver a powerbomb as well but ended up getting speared by Bron Breakker himself.

And yeah, very, very early in the match – actually, I think like the first minute or the second, I landed, and I felt right away that my rib was broken. And [I] couldn’t breathe anymore really, couldn’t really move anymore.

Kaiser, who was perched atop Sheamus’ shoulders, too had a rough fall. Just when it seemed like WWE had finally decided to present The Legionair as a formidable singles threat on Raw, he got injured. That now leaves his Imperium boss Gunther all alone. One might feel that the injury bug bit Ludwig at the worst possible phase of his career. He’d be out of action for a significant amount of time and there’s no date set in stone as to when he could return.

When will Ludwig Kaiser return from injury?

Next month, on August 31, WWE will head to Germany for Bash in Berlin premium live event. It would be the first time for a WWE PLE to emanate from the German capital. Locally advertised for SmackDown a night before the PLE is a tag team match that suggests Ludwig Kaiser wouldn’t be out for long.

Per a local German newspaper Bild, Gunther and Kaiser will take on Sami Zayn and Ilja Dragunov in likely a dark match on the blue brand. That’s a dream-come-true for the European fans as they’d get to see such a high profile bout having a blend of local competitors.

Some fans have already fantasy-booked a highly anticipated showdown between Gunther and Dragunov at Bash in Berlin. However, they might have to wait and see whether it happens or not. Also, it would be interesting to see if The Ring General enters the show as the World Heavyweight Champion.
