Ludwig Kaiser has been a steadfast member of Imperium, dedicated to his leader Gunther. However, over the past few months, the 34-year-old star has been showing why he deserves a chance as a singles competitor. The Imperium member has been embroiled in a heated rivalry with Sheamus, constantly fighting to assert dominance on the red brand.

The two clashed once again in a dark match after the latest episode of SmackDown went off the air. Although Ludwig Kaiser showed some spark, he was no match for The Celtic Warrior. In the final moments of the match, Sheamus secured the win by hitting a Brogue Kick on the German superstar. The veteran continued to build momentum after his disappointing finish in the No. 1 contender qualifying matches for the Intercontinental title.

Kaiser likely experienced a career-defining moment in Germany a few weeks ago at the Bash in Berlin PLE. He received a huge ovation from fans and even celebrated Gunther‘s victory over Randy Orton in the main event. However, like Sheamus, the 34-year-old star fell short in the Fatal 4-Way match, failing to become the No. 1 contender for Bron Breakker‘s title.

The former NXT Tag Team Champion faced off against The Celtic Warrior and Braun Strowman on the September 2 episode of Raw. Unfortunately for the Irish veteran, his old rival Pete Dunne brutally attacked him with a shillelagh. This allowed The Monster Among Men to capitalize on the situation and pin Kaiser.

Vince Russo expressed his opinion on The Undertaker’s comments on Ludwig Kaiser

Ludwig Kaiser has impressed many, gradually stepping out of Gunther’s shadow with his singles run. He has caught the attention of not only the WWE Universe but also The Undertaker, who heaped praise on him. The WWE Hall of Famer stated that the 34-year-old star has the potential to make it big in WWE. Another WWE veteran, Vince Russo, shared the same sentiment.

While speaking on the WrestleBinge podcast, the WWE veteran agreed with Taker’s statement about the German star. He explained that wrestling is more about understanding the nuances than just delivering 5-star matches. Russo said that Kaiser was one of the guys who understood these nuances and called him a true pro.

This guy is all about nuances bro. Every single thing this dude does on his ring entrance is so meticulous. I watch him and I immediately go, 'this guy is a freaking pro.' He's definitely one of those guys. If they would've kept him tight connected to Gunther, they could've made a huge babyface out of him bro.

He further added that WWE should have kept him alongside The Ring General for a longer period. Russo elaborated on his statement, saying that the Stamford-based company could have turned the German star into a great babyface.

During Gunther’s time as the Intercontinental Champion, many fans believed that his closest friend would be the one to finally dethrone him. However, he continues to remain loyal to the current World Heavyweight Champion.
