Ever since he came over via trade, Luka Doncic has overtaken LeBron James to establish himself as the primary superstar on the Los Angeles Lakers.
At the time, not one soul was willing to accept that the Dallas Mavericks would offload their franchise cornerstone to another conference rival, let alone the most marketable team in the league. Before Doncic’s debut, ticket prices had soared to astronomical levels as ardent fans were willing to pay top dollar to watch the Slovenian wear the purple and gold.
For Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, whose net worth ranges in the $150 millions, it was not difficult for him to pay for two tickets to watch the Lakers’ newest superstar.
I went to a Lakers game with my son last year. It was Luka’s…I think it was one of the first or second games that he was playing after the trade. He did come careening into the stands, knock into the guy next to me…spilled all of his beer on me… He was positioned in a way towards me where his big, main, least attractive part was right in my face.
Ben Affleck said
As the 53-year-old said this to the audience of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, naturally, they found Ben Affleck’s experience amusing enough to break out into a bout of laughter.

Even ‘The Rip‘ co-star and close friend, Matt Damon, found it funny that the ‘Air‘ producer would go to a Lakers game. Affleck, being a Boston Celtics superfan, went there as his son wanted to catch Luka Doncic in action.
Max Kellerman wants Lakers to trade Luka Doncic
One of the most hotly debated conversations surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers is after Rich Paul mentioned in his podcast that, had he been the team’s GM, he would have traded Austin Reaves.
That has left the organization in a bad spot, as the narratives have been negative enough that they could affect the morale of the roster. When ESPN Los Angeles reached out to Paul’s podcast co-host, Max Kellerman, to ask about this situation, he said:
I like Austin Reaves a lot, as does Rich (Paul), by the way… I think there’s a world, it’ll never happen, where you could deal Luka, cause you get more for him than Austin Reaves, then build around AR.
Max Kellerman replied
The former First Take analyst reiterated that Rich Paul had nothing to do with Austin Reaves, but just hypothetically proposed that trade as part of their discussion.

If the Lakers were thinking of trading away one of the backcourt shooting guards, Kellerman believes it should be Luka Doncic, as that way, they can get more in return.
The 52-year-old has talked about trading the 26-year-old before, and it seems he is still considering it. It seems Kellerman is not sold on Doncic’s ability to lead the Lakers to a title.
Luka Doncic and Lakers’ inconsistency could impact playoff hopes
The Los Angeles Lakers closed November with the second-best record in the Western Conference. Then December came, and the team could not finish the month with a .500 record.

Now, in January, they started well, winning their first three games, which came as a sigh of relief for their ardent fans. But since then, they lost three straight, and then have won and lost the same number of games to stand with a .500 record.
That inconsistent run has seen them slide down to sixth in the standings, and could continue to fall if they cannot figure out how to put together a run of wins.
With others looking in from the outside, the Lakers could undermine their playoff hopes unless they figure out how to make the best of their current roster.
