Luka Doncic sends fans wild by scoring a step back shot against Kawhi Leonard and taunting him with the too small celebration
The Dallas Mavericks usually leave it to Luka Doncic to create breathtaking plays in a game. However, he took it one step further by taunting his opponent today after scoring on a play. That opponent had to be the former two-time Defensive Player of the Year Kawhi Leonard.
It is no easy task going up against arguably one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. A player who manages to outduel Leonard can only pat themselves on the back. But Doncic and his usual ultra-competitive nature wanted more. He did that by breaking out his favorite ‘too small’ after sending the former Finals MVP skating back and scoring a step back jumper even though Leonard recovered.
It should be noted that Doncic had an off-shooting night by his lofty standards. Therefore, hitting a crucial shot against the former champion and then taunting him with that celebration was crucial in setting the tone in this game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Luka Doncic had to bring that competitive edge onto the court today as the Dallas Mavericks looked to continue their Game 2 form at home. His energy and drive rubbed off on his teammates as they collectively dispatched the superstar-laden team with the playoff series lead in their hands.
