Young kids and their families were taken by surprise when NBA superstar Luka Doncic and other Los Angeles Lakers stars attended the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital recently. The players, particularly Doncic, made lasting impressions on the young fans by hanging out with kids, signing autographs, and even holding babies.

The Lakers’ visit was a component of a broader initiative to engage the community and cheer up those in need. Notably, it’s not the first time Doncic did something like this; in fact, the Lakers star has visited hospitals in the past, too. Interestingly, Doncic opened up on the reason to visit Children’s hospitals in a recent interview with ESPN reporter Malika Andrews.

Basketball stars like Doncic are always known for their tough mindset and approach on the court. However, they do have a soft side off the scenes, and acts like these showcase their soft side to the NBA community. He even played the role of ‘Santa’ during the COVID-19 pandemic, visiting the Children’s Hospital of the University Medical Center Ljubljana. 

Aside from this, the Slovenian is focused on his Lakers side going into Game 3 of the first-round NBA Playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He faces a tough task against the Timberwolves’ star man, Anthony Edwards, on the away court.

The series is currently level, and Doncic will be looking to spread his magic once again on the court like he did last year in the WCF Finals against the Wolves. All eyes will be on Luka going into this matchup away from home court.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are a team that the Lakers’ star Luka Doncic knows well. Doncic has defeated them multiple times in his career. However, now Doncic faces a tough task with his new Lakers side going into Game 3 of this matchup against Minnesota. Notably, the Lakers star opened up on the atmosphere in Minneapolis in a recent interview, stating ‘it’s gonna be very tough.’

It’s gonna be hype. I remember that, they have amazing fans and they’re gonna be very loud from the first moment. At some point they’re gonna make a run, but we gotta stay together. It’s us against the whole arena, so it’s gonna be very tough. I experienced that and it wasn’t easy. We gotta stay together no matter what.

Given how strong this Timberwolves team is and how loud and boisterous the atmosphere will be within that building, the Lakers will need to work hard to win. There will be difficult moments, but Doncic believes that as the team’s leaders, he and LeBron James have a responsibility to make sure that everyone stays together and doesn’t lose hope.

Just as the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade deal went through between the Dallas Mavericks and the Lakers, all sorts of rumors started to spread regarding the Slovenian’s fitness. Per reports, the Mavs made it feel like Doncic’s fitness had reached the lowest point. However, the Lakers’ GM, Rob Pelinka, put all the rumors to bed recently.

I tell you, he’s been a great leader in the gym every day, working hard at his craft. Obviously, you can’t be one of the best players in the world without putting in the work.

The thing that drove many players and fans crazy was Dallas’s attempt to undermine Doncic’s work ethic. During his first six seasons, he was named to the NBA First Team five times in a row. He would not be able to achieve this if he hadn’t put in the work on and off the court. Nevertheless, Doncic is settled with his new franchise and is eyeing the big prize with the Lakers.
