Sabrina Ionescu reacts to her game-winning shot
Sabrina Ionescu’s game-winning shot capped off a historic 15-point comeback for the New York Liberty. The feat only trailed the 17-point comeback victory that the Lynx pulled off in Game 1 of the series for the largest come-from-behind victory in a WNBA Finals.
Ionescu finished the game with 13 points on 37.5% shooting from behind the arc. Her Liberty teammate Breanna Stewart led the game in scoring with 30 points to complete the comeback. Following the match, Ionescu spoke about her feelings after hitting one of the biggest shots in WNBA history.
The Liberty All-Star also spoke about her thought process behind taking a shot from the logo to seal the game.
After losing the series’ first game, the Liberty now find themselves firmly in the driver’s seat with a 2-1 lead. Napheesa Collier and the Lynx will desperately look to claw their way back into the series. They will take on the Liberty in Friday night’s blockbuster Win-or-Go Home Game 4, which could possibly see the New York Liberty bring home their first-ever WNBA Championship.
