Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic to sign largest contract in NBA history, a $346 million Super Max extension after making All-NBA team

Luka Doncic has been selected to his second straight All-NBA first team. A brilliant achievement for all the razzle and dazzle he has been producing on the basketball court. Now, all that will dazzle his bank account as he is eligible to get the largest contract in NBA history in 2025.

Once the announcements were made for the All-NBA teams, ESPN’s Bobby Marks came out with a breakdown of how Doncic could create history. The 25-year-old will be eligible to sign a super-max extension in 2025.

With the way the salary cap is growing, Doncic will now be eligible to earn $346 million over a period of 5 years. That means an adjusted yearly average of nearly $69 million per year. A massive jump over the $57 million that Jaylen Brown will earn when his new super-max extension kicks in next year.

Luka Doncic‘s salary will come close to that of MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani, who earns an average of $70 million per year. This will steamroll to other players in the league. One of the other All-NBA superstars will look at topping this number sooner rather than later.

For the young kid from Slovenia who was drafted into the league by the Dallas Mavericks at the age of 19, it will be a realization of his potential. From dominating the EuroLeague as a teenager to becoming the highest paid player in the NBA.

Luka Doncic focused on winning an NBA title this year

For Luka Doncic, the timing could not be better than to win an NBA title. Since coming into the league, the young star first had to prove why he was so highly scouted and revered by his Dallas Mavericks team. After doing that, he had to face the noise of not being good enough to win the MVP despite doing everything possible.

So now, he is looking at cementing his name as the best player in the league by winning an NBA title. To get that, he and his teammates have already started the Western Conference Finals well. They have to continue that form over the next few games to reach their first NBA Finals in 13 years. Winning a title will surely erase all the disappointments of not winning the MVP.

That, itself will cement himself as the best player in the league. Then probably the 25-year-old will not have to answer those who question him.
