Luka Doncic will get his revenge game against Nico Harrison and the Dallas Mavericks on February 25th

A few days ago, Luka Doncic was still with the Dallas Mavericks. At the time, he did not have a clue that GM Nico Harrison was working on the finer details along with his Los Angeles Lakers counterpart Rob Pelinka to send him to the West Coast.

He allegedly shed tears when the news was broken to him and cut a dejected figure all throughout his trip to Los Angeles and during his introductory press conference. It seemed as if the Slovenian superstar was seething inside after how the Mavericks ousted him.

He was supposed to be their present and future and could possibly look at retiring with the franchise. But his fate would change on February 2nd, and he would have to start all over again in a new city. His new teammate and forever face of the league, LeBron James has tried to make him feel welcome.

But he won’t forget what Nico Harrison and the Dallas Mavericks ownership have done. They threw loyalty out of the window and sent him away despite all his efforts over the past six and a half seasons. His demeanor and mannerism have some believing he is waiting to exact his revenge. On February 25th, he will get that chance.

Starters: Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, LeBron James, Mark Williams.

Why can the Dallas Mavericks win?

With the addition of Anthony Davis, Max Christie and Caleb Martin, the Dallas Mavericks have a formidable starting lineup as well as a solid bench. Davis and the others won’t have much trouble adjusting to the rotation as they can simply exploit pick and roll basketball and win.

Davis might have a chip on his shoulders as he too might have felt that the Los Angeles Lakers gave up on him. He will go up against a young center, therefore, chances are the Mavericks could snatch away a famous win over Doncic and the Lakers.

Why can the Los Angeles Lakers win?

Luka Doncic has shown enough evidence through his body language that he has a point to prove. However, there are concerns on how the Los Angeles Lakers will adjust to Doncic considering he does most of what LeBron James already does.

However, the five-time All-NBA player has shown that he can dominate a game on his own. Therefore, there are chances former teammate and new head coach JJ Redick might just give him the ball and let him have his game.

Even if they do have any shadow of a doubt, the Lakers are on a formidable run. If Redick finds some issues with their rotation, he could just ask the team to play how they are used to playing and help Doncic exact revenge.
