A few days ago, Luka Doncic was still with the Dallas Mavericks. At the time, he did not have a clue that GM Nico Harrison was working on the finer details along with his Los Angeles Lakers counterpart Rob Pelinka to send him to the West Coast.
He allegedly shed tears when the news was broken to him and cut a dejected figure all throughout his trip to Los Angeles and during his introductory press conference. It seemed as if the Slovenian superstar was seething inside after how the Mavericks ousted him.
He was supposed to be their present and future and could possibly look at retiring with the franchise. But his fate would change on February 2nd, and he would have to start all over again in a new city. His new teammate and forever face of the league, LeBron James has tried to make him feel welcome.
But he won’t forget what Nico Harrison and the Dallas Mavericks ownership have done. They threw loyalty out of the window and sent him away despite all his efforts over the past six and a half seasons. His demeanor and mannerism have some believing he is waiting to exact his revenge.
