The Dallas Mavericks have been preparing hard for the 2024-25 NBA season. After suffering defeat in the recent NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, they are in the mood to bounce back strong. They have added the likes of four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson to their attack.

The Mavs already have a star duo in Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irvin as well as quality youngsters like Dereck Lively ll. At the team’s annual “Fan Jam” on Sunday (October 6), the Mavs fans got their first glimpse at the 2024–25 team.

It was also an opportunity for them to see new players including shooting guard Thompson, shooting guard Quentin Grimes, and small forward Naji Marshall. However, it was Mavs star Doncic and his teammate Lively who stole the headlines.

During the build-up to the game, Lively was spotted uttering some words in Doncic’s ears in a viral video. He made a $100,000 bet with Doncic to make a full-court shot. In response, the Slovenian made the full-court shot with a cold face, which left fans stunned.

Doncic later took to his X account to remind Lively of the bet. However, it most likely seems that the two stars were joking regarding the bet.

The Mavs are shaping up nicely ahead of the upcoming season. With mostly all of their stars fit, they will be looking to make a swift start to the 2024-25 NBA season. It will be interesting to watch how Doncic and Co. will perform in the coming months.
