The Dallas Mavericks star man Luka Doncic has been one of their most stellar players over the past two-three years in the NBA. This 2023-24 season, Doncic has been on fire, leading his team to the NBA Finals alongside his veteran teammate, Kyrie Irving. Notably, the Mavs’ head coach Jason Kidd shared an interesting take on what makes Doncic so special, and how he produces in nearly every clutch moment in the game.

Kidd claimed in a recent interview that Doncic’s special ability to shine under the bright lights goes back to his Real Madrid days. He mentioned that Doncic’s ability to adapt to various situations during the game is what stands out from other players in the NBA.

That’s a good question, I think it goes back to him and Real Madrid...He has always adapted or he’s been able to perform at the highest level. And for that, he can draw on those experiences and get his game to that level. When you saw Game 5, very similar to Game 7 in Phoenix (in 2022). He didn’t let those fans get a chance to cheer.
