The Los Angeles Lakers have officially welcomed Luka Doncic. After weeks of drama, chaos, and a bit of frustration, the Lakers fans got what they wanted. A top performance from Doncic. After a few lackluster games from the former Dallas Mavericks star, the Lakers’ recent performance lived up to the anticipation on Saturday, defeating the Denver Nuggets 123-100.

Not only that, this performance was followed by the whole NBA world, with many chiming in to praise Doncic on their socials. One notable person was the former Lakers star and NBA legend, Magic Johnson. He took to his X account to put forward immense praise for Doncic and the Lakers side. In addition, Johnson also made a bold statement on X.

“Big win for the Lakers tonight! This game proves that Luka, LeBron, and Reaves can thrive in JJ Redick’s offense— and Rui helped out a lot tonight too. It was a great performance on both ends of the court. If the Lakers keep this up, they have a real shot at playing in the Western Conference Finals!”

It’s important to note that the Lakers had a dismal record against the Nuggets. In recent years, the Nuggets have won 13 of their past 14 games against the Lakers, including the postseason. Additionally, throughout the previous five seasons, the two teams had met in the playoffs three times. This has exacerbated the ongoing battle for supremacy in the Western Conference.

However, with this win, the Lakers and their fans can breathe some fresh air against this one-sided record led by the Nuggets. Nevertheless, with the addition of Doncic, their attack gets a huge boost and this recent performance is a clear example of how far the Lakers can go this season.

Fans go berserk over Luka Doncic’s performance against Nuggets

Luka Doncic led Los Angeles to a resounding victory at Denver, scoring 32 points in what was by far his greatest game with the Lakers. In his first three games with the Lakers, Doncic scored 14.7 points on average. Less than ten minutes in, he exceeded that, and before the half, with the Lakers ahead 63-54, he had 19 points.
