Luke Clanton is brimming with confidence after the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He is now preparing to tee off at the 2024 John Deere Classic.

The 20-year-old amateur golfer finished T10 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in just his second PGA Tour start. Clanton believes that he is “pretty close” to where he wanted to be in terms of his golfing aspirations.

During an interview after the Rocket Mortgage Classic tournament, Luke Clanton opened up about his goals and upcoming events.

I think if I look at myself from three years ago to now, I’d say, I’m probably pretty close to where I wanted to be. I’d say I think I had pretty big goals growing up, you know, I had a lot of expectations for what I wanted to do. Again, I think I’m pretty close to it. There is one thing I want. I think that’s pretty obvious, of course. I think we’re just going to see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

Luke Clanton said

Clanton was second in strokes gained off the tee, averaging 319.2 yards in the tournament. His driving performance and solid ball-striking and putting allowed him to make a serious run at the title. His primary focus is on winning the NCAA national championship. However, he is also eager to compete on the PGA Tour. Clanton is confident in his ability to compete on the PGA Tour with a sponsor exemption to the John Deere Classic.

Clanton has clinched two championships so far. He won the 2022 Azalea Invitational golf tournament, along with the 2022 North and South Amateur at Pinehurst Resort and finished tied for 41st place in the U.S. Open in 2024.
