Luke Clanton, the 20-year-old amateur golfer, is making waves on the PGA Tour. After an impressive performance at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, where he finished tied for 10th, Clanton is now set to tee off at the John Deere Classic.

After his incredible performance in the third round, Clanton sounded genuinely excited. The amateur expressed his excitement of playing alongside pro golfers and watching them in person.

This is unbelievable, I'm not going to lie to you. I'm still a little kid basically, watching these guys play golf. I kinda look up to these dudes. And to be able to play with them and actually watch them in person is pretty nuts.
Luke Clanton said

Hit golf shots is pretty nuts. Still trying to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming. It’s awesome, man, I mean, being out here, everything is pretty sweet for sure. Look at what I’m doing, I’m playing golf right now on the PGA Tour. It’s pretty nuts.

Clanton fired a 4-under 67 in the second round to reach 12-under par for the tournament, tying him for third place. This comes just a week after he finished tied for 10th at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

The young amateur will have his sights set on becoming the 24th first-time PGA Tour winner in the 54-year history of the John Deere Classic. If he were to prevail on Sunday, Clanton would also become the youngest Quad Cities champion since Jordan Spieth in 2013.
