The San Francisco 49ers triumphed over the Los Angeles Rams in a divisional game on Thursday despite being heavily underrated, mainly due to their battered team. The Niners braved through the Rams with standout performances from the quarterback Mac Jones and squad.
Mac Jones was one of the highlights of the game, throwing for 342 yards and two touchdowns and completing 67.4 percent of his throws. The former New England Patriots quarterback’s game against their division rivals surprised everyone, and several analysts even claimed that the performance was enough for him to replace Brock Purdy as the starter.
Following the 49ers’ 26-23 overtime victory, quarterback Mac Jones was asked about entering the division rivalry as the underdog. Jones admitted that while he didn’t pay too much attention to the underdog, he said that his head coach, Kyle Shanahan, was angry about it.
Jones mentioned that Shanahan told him that the coach wasn’t happy with the media moving them to underdogs, especially with their 3-1 record heading into the game. Jones told reporters:
I don’t really pay attention to much of it. I don’t really do social media that much, but Kyle came up to me, and he was pissed about it. So he’s like, ‘Dude, I can’t believe they moved us to underdogs again or more.’ I am like, ‘I don’t know what that means really, but yeah, let’s go kill them.’ He was pissed about it. I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m pissed too.’
"Kyle came up to me and he was pissed about it. Haha Haha. He's like I can't believe they moved us even more. And I'm like I don't know what that means but let's go kill em'"

The Niners are now 4-1 on the season despite losing many of their players to injury. They were without Purdy, WRs Ricky Pearsall, Jauan Jennings, Brandon Aiyuk, TE George Kittle, and defensive linemen Nick Bosa.
When it comes to fashion, Mac Jones is no underdog
The 27-year-old Mac Jones once again was draped in a stellar suit that caught the media attention almost immediately. He had become a fashion lookout in the first week itself with his red hot suit which received applause from even Kyle Shanahan’s wife.

The starting quarterback Purdy also commented on the Alabama product’s choice. He told NBC Sports that he was surprised by Jones’ selection in the first week. Nonetheless, Purdy thought that Jones was funny and he got taste when it comes to what to wear.
In the game against the Los Angeles Rams, the quarterback walked in wearing a two-tone suit, with the right side black and the left a beautiful shade of red. The attire reminded fans of Harvey Dent, an important Batman character. However, some attributed the look to Harley Quinn. Anyhow, Jones’ attire did earn some talk online.
Throughout the season, Mac Jones has appeared on game days in suits, which the media have noticed. And they raised the question in the postgame interview. Jones said with a laugh:
I don’t know, I just like suits. Like I said last week, I wear suits because I’m going to work. So, that’s kind of how I look at it. And yeah, they’re cool.
Mac Jones had previously touched upon the topic when he revealed that he has about 50 to 60 suits in his wardrobe. He started wearing suits in college because it was mandatory, and he has done that ever since. In addition to the split-color suit and the full red in Week 1, he has a few other statement pieces. The ensemble might make a comeback as well if he’s in the mood for that specific attire.
