The Los Angeles Chargers’ heartthrob quarterback, Justin Herbert, with his golden locks and impressive on-the-field outings, has had boys and girls swooning over him since he started in the league. Through the course of his rise in his career, he has all but stayed radio silent on his private life and remained a mystery for the fans.

In mid-August this year, fans got a glimpse of the tides turning when Herbert was spotted at a music video shooting of American singer-songwriter Madison Beer. They made several appearances in the weeks that followed, including a casual stroll in the City of Angels, an appearance at the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 18-inning World Series game, and courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers game.

The fans locked in on this new star couple when Herbert and Beer shared a quick kiss before one of his games against the Washington Commanders in Week 5. The iconic Herbert-Beer moment in the NFL may have been when the TV network played Beer’s single ‘Yes Baby’ when the Chargers took the lead over the Tennessee Titans in Week 9. The music video, which was being shot in mid-August when Herbert hung out with her, was ironically one and the same.

Despite these outings and obvious hints, Herbert has not spoken about his hangouts with Madison Beer. Nor has Beer talked about it. However, they are giving the fans enough to gush about with cute, cheesy gestures.

Recently, Beer stepped out in a sweatshirt with an Oregon Ducks-themed graphic print on it. The singer-songwriter who shot into overnight fame following support from the then-teen sensation Justin Bieber was reportedly shopping for some vintage Beatles posters with a friend when she was spotted wearing this grey sweatshirt.

Justin Herbert was one of the top quarterbacks from the University of Oregon, playing as a quarterback from 2016 to 2019. He played 44 games for the Ducks, starting in 42 of them, and held a 29-13 record. He registered 10,541 passing yards and 95 touchdowns with a completion rate of 64% and a passer rating above 150. In addition to Oregon being his alma mater, Herbert also hails from Oregon’s second-most populous city, Eugene.

Madison Beer was taken off guard with her song ‘Yes Baby’ playing during Chargers-Titans broadcast

As the NFL’s latest star couple evolves from a dangerous kind of crush to a serious relationship, the NFL and its broadcasting partners are cashing in on the next pop and sports crossover. Amid the Chargers’ Week 9 game against the Titans, CBS played the tunes of Madison Beer’s 2025 song, ‘Yes Baby’ when Justin Herbert connected with Quentin Johnson for a touchdown and took the lead.

Beer, who was catching the game from her home was taken off-guard and filled with surprise when she heard her song being played. She said on her recent Instagram Live:

When I was watching football last week, it was just like [as usual]. But then I was like, what the hell? What the hell? I had no idea they were doing that [playing my song]. It was so cool.

In the Instagram Live, she also sang ‘No One Mourns the Wicked,’ from the movie Wicked, originally sung by Ariana Grande and the Wicked cast. She also touched upon a few other topics, like Jimmy Kimmel postponing her performance and her reduced posting on Instagram. Her address about the latter was quite relevant.

You guys get upset with me because I don’t post much, but I’m going to try to take some photos next week. This might sound silly, but I’ve been posting on Instagram for so many years that I just don’t have the motivation anymore. I just don’t feel like it, nor do I care about posting on Instagram anymore.

Instagram started as a social media app where users shared random images that they liked or made their day, and transitioned into the creator space that it has become. While it has provided a space, the pressure to stay active and ahead of the algorithm for maximum engagement isn’t easy. And it’s why what Beer said makes more sense and adds a thought-provoking touch to it.
