The Golden State Warriors comfortably won Game 1 of their second-round playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves. But they did not have Steph Curry for much of the game after he exited with a hamstring injury.
Before that injury, Curry scored 13 points and looked extremely confident going up against the long and rangy Wolves. If a basketball fan were to just see that scoring run, they would think that the two-time league MVP is driven and wants to win his fifth NBA title.
But now the injury is a serious problem the Warriors will have to deal with. If his teammates can play the same way they did in that game, they should be fine until he returns. In the playoffs, superstars usually play through injury. But this is not something the Warriors want to risk if they have their sights set on competing for a title.
That goal should see him miss at least one game. Fans waited to get some insight on how long he will need to recover and come back. Earlier today, ESPN’s NBA Insider Shams Charania gave an update detailing how long he could be out.
The Warriors expect Stephen Curry to miss at least one week with the Grade 1 left hamstring strain, sources tell ESPN. An exact return will be based on how their All-NBA guard responds to rehab with his first muscle strain.

Thankfully for the Golden State Warriors, Steph Curry did not suffer a Grade 2 hamstring strain. That would have possibly ended his season. However, since this is the first time the 37-year-old has suffered this injury, fans are worried.
Steph Curry’s injury has Hall of Famer and fans worried
Shaquille O’Neal suggested that Steph Curry constantly running around at age 37 might have contributed to this injury. Whatever the cause is, Hall of Famer Magic Johnson and basketball fans are praying that the Golden State Warriors superstar returns as soon as possible.
They know that without him, the Minnesota Timberwolves might have an easier path to the Western Conference Finals. Fans want to see him come back and lead his team to at least fight to win the series. Fans took to social media to comment on this situation. Check out examples of those comments below.

At this rate, next round they'll be facing cardboard cutout.
The one positive for Dubs fans is this isn’t an injury to an already damaged body part

If the warriors can win 1 of the next 4 games, he should be back by game 6
If the Timberwolves win Game 2 comfortably, the superstar could force his way back. They nearly came to losing the first-round series. None of those players or coaches wants a repeat of that. Therefore, it is on his teammates to ensure they win, and Curry gets the rest he needs.
Onus is on Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and Buddy Hield
No team in the NBA can completely base the success of any season on the shoulders of one player. In the case of the Golden State Warriors, they have assembled a team that can fight with the best in the league. Now, that means it is on them to stand up to the task.

The Warriors traded for Jimmy Butler, who has extensive experience dragging teams to either the Conference or NBA Finals. He, along with four-time champion Draymond Green, and close friend Buddy Hield, have to lead the charge.
Their younger teammates will follow along with the tone they set. If they continue their stellar performances from Game 1 into the next couple of games, the Warriors should be in a good spot until Curry returns.
Their legacies as basketball players are on the line. The same can be said about Steve Kerr, who has the chance to prove he can without both Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. Game 2 tomorrow will show where they stand.
