Magomed Ankalaev vs Ion Cutelaba has been officially confirmed now to be back on the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

UFC had earlier targeted the Vegas 8 event after Cutelaba had to pull out because he had tested positive for coronavirus and was forced into quarantine. Now, it has been set for the late summer as per a press release from the UFC.

Both the light heavyweights have already faced off in their first contest which was held at UFC Norfolkm. Ankalaev was declared the winner by first-round TKO as referee Kevin MacDonald had stepped in assuming Cutelaba was rocked by early punches from Anakalaev. However, Cutelaba immediately snapped and said that he was only playing possum to tire out his opponent. Eventually, the fight ended in a controversy.

UFC had then initially scheduled the rematch for UFC 249 before the pandemic gripped the world. Later on, the two were booked to fight at UFC 252 and this time, Cutelaba tested positive for COVID-19.

The records of these two in the UFC are quite contrary. Cutelaba haa a record of 4-4 while Ankalaev has won four of his last four fights.

Now, it will be quite interesting to watch this re-match between the two and see who wins. The UFC has also added several other bouts for the UFC Vegas 8.
