Brock Lesnar’s WWE return needs clearance from lawyers following Janel Grant lawsuit fiasco: Reports

It’s been almost a year since Brock Lesnar was last seen in WWE. He lost to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam and bowed out. The Beast was heavily rumored for a return at this year’s Royal Rumble PLE. However, following his alleged involvement in the lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, the company decided to pull back on Lesnar.

If he were to come back, it has to be ratified by a legal team, as elucidated by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. Per the seasoned journalist, the lawyers initially advised WWE to distance itself from Brock Lesnar for the time being. But since the dust has seemingly settled on what was reported against The Beast Incarnate, there’s a chance that the 10-time World Champion might return in future.

Recently, WWE CCO Triple H was asked about how close was the former UFC ace from returning. The Cerebral Assassin avoided getting into the ins-and-outs of it. Instead he said that Brock does his own thing and would be in Canada right now, enjoying his life with family. However, The Game did add that WWE would be open to the conversation if Lesnar decides to work his way back into the mix.

In previous months, there have been instances of Lesnar being spotted with an almost unrecognizable look. And it doesn’t seem like that his name is forbidden in WWE. As the fans could famously recall, he found a mention in Paul Heyman‘s WWE Hall of Fame induction speech. Veteran commentator Michael Cole has also cited Brock on air whenever he needed to. With SummerSlam next weekend, is there an outside chance of him actually being back? His fans would hope so.

Gunther still pushing for that dream match against Brock Lesnar

If there’s one name in WWE who’d want Brock Lesnar to return more than anyone else, it’s Gunther. They were rumored to square off at WrestleMania XL. However, as mentioned above, Lesnar’s name being dragged into the Janel Grant lawsuit precluded that from happening.

Back in May, The Ring General was asked by The Daily Mail if he still yearns for a showdown against the 47-year-old. Gunther said he’s more than up for it if the match happens. Further, the Austrian affirmed that he always viewed Brock as his final boss.

For the record, they came face-to-face at last year’s Royal Rumble, with the crowd going bananas. However, it was the only instance in which the two goliaths met on screen. It would be some sight for the fans if they cross paths again.
