The wish of many wrestling fans finally came true when Joe Hendry made his first appearance on WWE TV. The Scottish wrestler had a fairly short stint on TV this week. However, fans need not worry, as they can expect to see him on the yellow brand once again.
According to a report by Fightful, The Prestigious One is expected to make more appearances on NXT in the future. WWE backstage officials were also reportedly very happy with the reaction received by Hendry.
On the other side, sources within TNA were delighted that his story with Frankie Kazarian was furthered during the show. However, several within the Nashville-based company wished for Hendry to get more time on TV than he originally did.
Hendry became a wrestling sensation after his entrance track, “I Believe in Joe Hendry,” went viral on the music charts, even beating out several top music stars. Many fans clamored for him to appear alongside other Scottish superstars, like Drew McIntyre, at Clash at the Castle due to his Scottish origin. While that seemed too far-fetched, WWE did deliver by debuting The King of Entrances on NXT.
Joe Hendry shocks the wrestling world by appearing on the latest episode of NXT
The latest episode of NXT featured a battle royale to crown the #1 contender for the NXT Championship, currently held by Trick Williams. Right as fans were expecting the timekeeper to ring the bell, they heard the viral entrance theme. The crowd popped hugely for the TNA star and called along thunderously.

On the way to the ring, Joe Hendry cut a promo about being the only sensation in that match. He was now going to win the match and become the #1 contender for the NXT Championship. He planned to take the championship away from Trick Williams and take it to TNA. Unfortunately, the 36-year-old was the first one to be eliminated from the battle royal and will have to reserve his championship aspirations for the future.
This appearance makes him and Frankie Kazarian the first two male TNA superstars to appear on WWE programming. This segment, alongside Jordynne Grace‘s appearances on NXT, is an indication that the WWE-TNA partnership seems to be going smoothly. Further, fans can expect more of their favorite wrestlers to appear on the opposite brands.
