Bronny James trolled by Jason Whitlock with Tim Walz comparison
Bronny James has been the butt of constant criticism ever since he started playing basketball professionally. However, the criticism against the 20-year-old was exacerbated after the Los Angeles Lakers drafted him with the 55th pick in the NBA Draft. Now, James is under fire once again after Columnist Jason Whitlock’s wild political comparison to James’ first NBA points.
Whitlock took to social media platform X to start the mud-slinging following Bronny James’ first NBA points. Reports emerged of James taking home the net from the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse to commemorate his first bucket in the league. Following this, Whitlock called James a ‘Make-a-Swish’ kid, comparing him to the Democrat Vice-Presidential nominee Tim Walz.
While it is common for players to take home the game ball after scoring their first NBA points, taking home the net from an arena is a gesture normally reserved for championship celebrations. Whitlock trolled Bronny James, calling the Cavaliers’ gesture of gifting the net to James similar to a ‘Make-a-Wish’ charitable gesture.

Whitlock’s comparison of Bronny James to Kamala Harris’ running mate, Tim Walz, stems from his political stance. Whitlock has been an ardent supporter of Kamala Harris’ opponent, Donald Trump, prompting his dig at Walz through his criticism of Bronny James. The constant trolling from Whitlock and his views have often made him a controversial figure in sports media.
