Time and again, Serena Williams has shown that she has the same love for her daughter, that she has for tennis. The 23-time Grand Slam champion proved to be a doting mother as between her match, she made sure that her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. isn’t swallowing the grapes, without even setting eye on her.

This happened during her first-round match in the Top Seed Open in Lexington, Kentucky, USA. It was her first match after the break and it took some time before she settled in the match. Eventually, she emerged victorious in a tensed three-set match. The next round for Serena is going to be an all-family affair as she will face her elder sister Venus Williams.

Serena not only played the match but at the same time, performed her mother’s duties as well. Listening to her daughter’s cough, the younger of the Williams sister got worried and asked her husband Alexis Ohanian to make sure she is not swallowing the grapes.

After her match, Serena spoke about the incident, “I didn’t even set my eyes on her. However, I recognize my baby’s cough and asked Alexis to see that Olympia is chewing properly. Suddenly, I recognized the need to focus back on my match. Till, then my husband had already looked into the issue.” Actually Olympia was eating grapes and drinking water over them, which caught her mother’s attention.

All the time during the match, Olympia was either playing on the phone or cheering her mother.
