On the latest edition of AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland sent a bold message to Malakai Black ahead of their bout at Double or Nothing. Let’s just say the formerly known Edge had to resort to his ‘darker’ side to do so. After Malakai defeated Kyle O’Reilly, the House of Black leader stood in the ring as the lights turned red. Moments later, he got drenched in blood as it poured heavily from the arena’s ceiling.
If this wasn’t already enough, Copeland appeared on the big screen to cut a promo on his opponent. The TNT Champion told Malakai Black to be careful with what he wished for. Needless to say, the WWE Hall of Famer had enough of the House of Black’s shenanigans. As such, he has been seemingly forced to become the ‘Brood’ once again.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time that Adam Copeland has turned the clock back in his second run. During the road to WrestleMania 39, the Rated-R Superstar feuded with The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor. At the Show of Shows, he entered in his old persona to fight The Demon. Having said that, the House of Black’s antics for the past few weeks may have crossed the line.
Copeland will defend his TNT title against the 39-year-old star in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match. This will mark the wrestling legend’s first championship defense on PPV since winning the title from Christian Cage in March. As for the Brood Bloodbath, wrestling fans couldn’t resist reacting to the segment on social media.
Wrestling fans stoked after Adam Copeland sends a bloody message to Malakai Black on AEW Dynamite
Unsurprisingly, fans enjoyed the go-home angle for Double or Nothing. A user mocked the overuse of blood in AEW by referring to the segment as Tony Khan‘s ‘wet dream’. Meanwhile, another fan posted a peculiar shot of Malakai Black and hilariously advised him to seek a doctor’s help.
Some fans drew a parallel to his aforementioned storyline with The Judgment Day in WWE. A fan pointed out that Christian Cage had missed the reunion of the Brood faction. A few fans found Black’s selling of the bloodbath to be an equal blend of funny and perfect.
Of course, there were some who criticized the angle by calling it a copy of WWE and reminiscent of 2000 WCW. One fan posted a GIF of Gangrel, possibly hinting towards the return of the Attitude Era persona on Sunday. Recently, Adam Copeland revealed that the Stamford-based promotion had shut down his idea of bringing him back for his entrance at WrestleMania 39.
