Malik Hooker clarified about his recent jibe on Dallas Cowboys teammate Micah Parsons. A little too late for damage control.

On Friday, Hooker was a guest on FOX Sports’ All Facts No Brakes podcast. Host Keyshawn Johnson questioned the star safety about the Cowboys’ run game for the last couple of years. Without wasting much time Hooker decided to call out edge rusher Micah Parsons.

According to the 28-year-old, Parsons’ focus on building his name outside of the gridiron limited his potential on the field, even though his a three-time Pro Bowler and Two-time All Pro linebacker. Hooker argued that Parsons should concentrate more on improving his craft to help the Cowboys win some silverware.

Parsons missed the Cowboys offseason OTAs, traveling in Asia with Texans quarterback CJ Stroud. He preferred to do strength and conditioning training at his own pace.

He also became a regular feature for the Bleacher Report, hosting his own ‘The Edge with Micah Parsons’ podcast.

Parsons wasn’t too happy with the sudden call out. He tweeted a fiery response, which he later deleted. Through it, the 24-year-old questioned the reason behind Hooker’s motives. They both share the same locker room with their personal locker next to each other. It would have been better if Hooker said that to him in person.

Malik Hooker denies any animosity between him and Micah Parsons

The Cowboys are a franchise that is facing a lot of trouble. From tension between the head coach and the owner to stunted contract negotiations of their top players, one bad season and the entire locker room could go into meltdown.

So perhaps Hooker did not want his online beef with Parsons to escalate further. He wrote a follow-up message on Instagram which @MartinTalkCowboys shared on X.

And I am a speak on this once. @MicahParsons11 is little bro, no his podcast isn’t hurting nothing.. Don’t fall for bait. He knows what I meant. And knows me… See you at Oxnard.

This wasn’t the first occasion someone called out Micah Parsons for spending too much time creating an image as a football expert. In February, Parsons had a go at veteran ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith who is infamous for dissing the Cowboys.

Right after the Super Bowl LVIII, Smith invited Parsons for a one-on-one interview. Both went at each other like a back alley brawl instead of a discussion.

After watching the back and forth, Smith’s colleague Mike Greenberg pointed out that Parsons should focus more on becoming a football legend and not the next First Take host.

It’s brilliantly funny and [it’s] great content and far be it for me to be complaining about things that give us stuff to show you and talk about. But the reality is, [that] Micah Parsons needs to be worried about the next Lawrence Taylor, not the next Stephen A. Smith. He may have a wonderful career as the next Stephen A. Smith, that can start in 10 or 15 years, it doesn’t need to start right now.

Mike Greenberg said per Get Up

Parsons should focus on winning a Super Bowl or at least bag the next NFC Championship. The Cowboys haven’t reached that stage for more than 25 years. It will be the Penn State graduate’s last chance to do so before his contract runs out.
