New York Giants wideout Malik Nabers showered praise on his former LSU teammate Jayden Daniels amid a loss yesterday. The Big Blue lost an important game against the Washington Commanders, flunking to a 2-7 record.
Although Malik Nabers haven’t outright spelled it out, he is not very much interested in the Giants. Daniel Jones is not the best quarterback under whom a wideout can develop. Nevertheless, Nabers himself has his own flaws. Barring the off-field actions, Nabers has been criticised by fans for dropping easy catches as well. Amid this, he often took digs at Jones, generating an idea of Nabers potentially wanting to leave the Giants. The words have also led to rumors surrounding the player wishing to join the Commanders.
The duo made some headlines with a cute moment where Daniels sneaked in on Nabers, picking him up from the behind. Later, they again made some more headlines with the sideline chat amid the game. Nabers, who keeps a solid praise for Daniels, didn’t hold back in the press conference either. Speaking to reporters, Nabers called Daniels a winner wanting to somehow win all games.
Nabers and Daniels played as teammates at LSU during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, achieving a combined record of 20-7. Their strong connection helped each other excel, leading to Daniels being selected as the No. 2 overall pick and Nabers as the No. 6 in the 2024 NFL draft.
Malik Nabers was asked what he thought of Jayden Daniels' performance today:

Daniels earned the 2023 Heisman Trophy after a remarkable season with 40 touchdown passes and just four interceptions. Meanwhile, Nabers finished as a finalist for the 2023 Biletnikoff Award, amassing 1,569 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in his final year with the Tigers.
Malik Nabers invoke media criticism with sideline chat amid game
Early in the fourth quarter, the Giants were advancing down the field, aiming to reduce the Commanders’ 24-10 lead. During a timeout, Nabers walked over to Daniels on the Washington sideline, and the two were seen chatting. The incident wasn’t well responded by FOX announcers. Chris Myers and Mark Sanchez chastised the players, especially Nabers for his actions amid the game.
Sanchez voiced that the banter between rival players, no matter what bond they share, should be kept post the game. He also expressed that Nabers wasn’t locked in for the game.
After the game, Nabers declined to reveal what was discussed between the former LSU teammates. He and Daniels shared a friendly exchange after an incomplete pass in the fourth quarter. The absence of rivalry and intense competition has riled up some fans and ex-players, mainly the older ones, who think it is necessary. Daniels and Nabers are the latest to overlook the common notions and get chastised.
