Pittsburgh Steelers kept their thirty-three-year record intact after suppressing the New York Giants on Monday at their home. The Giants had four illegal formations, countless lazy throws, and dropped catches as well.

The Giants were far from the 1991 team who were the last team to defeat the Steelers on Monday Night. Quarterback Daniel Jones has been criticized since the beginning of the season, added with jersey immolation and booing. The sole hope for the fragile team was Malik Nabers and Devin Singletary. Nabers, although started pretty solid, sustained a concussion in the middle of the season. The rookie also came under fire for his off-field actions during the concussion protocol period.

The recent loss has further fueled the fans’ frustration over the wide receiver. The fans are now questioning the pre-draft hype for Nabers. Although hyped, he had been drafted sixth overall, as the second wideout in the Class of 2024.

There were claims of him being better than Arizona Cardinals’ Marvin Harrison Jr. It is still early to assume who’s the best considering MHJ has made some drops as well.

Nabers’ missed receptions weren’t solely due to poor throws from Daniel Jones. The rookie’s performance suffered from a few critical drops, affecting the game’s momentum. The miss in the fourth quarter could have been something that could edge them more into the winning territory. However, Nabers missed the pass, a routine catch for a wideout, which lessened the fans’ belief in the player.

Fans are frustrated with Malik Nabers after dropping catches during Steelers game

Malik Nabers, 21, hailing from Louisiana had earlier made a crucial drop in their second game as well. The Giants lost 21-18 to Washington Commanders in Week 2. The rookie who posted some good numbers had his image tarnished by a crucial drop that opened Pandora’s box of losses.

Dov Kleiman noted that the amount of drops is concerning, a perspective shared by many as the Giants add more heat to the turmoil. Fans have hit back at those who compared Nabers to MHJ as well as primetime Odell Beckham Jr. Here are some of the reactions:

It is agreed that Nabers is severely limited by Daniel Jones and could do better in a different jersey or a better quarterback. However, certain fans expressed that there are issues beyond that.

Malik Nabers also played a deciding role for several fantasy managers who also shared their irritation.

The Giants will return to MetLife Stadium for an NFC East showdown against the Washington Commanders, while the Steelers have a bye in Week 9. The Giants have only one win so far in the MetLife, less than certain college teams.
