Malik Nabers already had 23 receptions for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns before facing the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night. The rookie Giants wide receiver showcased that he can be the go-to target for quarterback Daniel Jones, causing problems for their divisional rivals.

The Cowboys, especially their quarterback, have dominated the fixture over the years. Dak Prescott has won 12 straight games against the Giants, and during his last trip to New York, he contributed 40 points.

No. It’s football. Every time I go out there, the game is the game. No matter who it is, game is a game.

Nabers kept his word. On the Giants’ first drive under the lights at MetLife Stadium. Jones hit Nabers on 3rd & 4 for a massive 39-yard game, which ended in a 3-point conversion.

However, there was something else that caught the eye of social media. Right before Nabers started his route, he gave the Cowboys cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. the slip. The LSU graduate turned inside and then switched gears to run a corner route, making it hard for Booth to follow.

Similar to Justin Jefferson and Jaire Alexander, Nabers also found his nemesis on the Cowboys roster. During the off-season, he got into a social media war of words with All-Pro corner Trevon Diggs, which has continued until the present day.

When asked to elaborate on the matter, Nabers hinted that he would prefer to answer it on the field.

It is what it is. But I don’t really wanna talk about it. It’s game time now.

Malik Nabers replied

The dual between the two athletes will undeniably be at the top of the bucket list for every fan to watch. Head coach Brian Daboll refrained from making any comments about the matchup, but praised the rookie wideout for possessing a sound mind and the athletic ability to outrun anyone.

For him to have the awareness to knock the ball down, that play says more to me about Malik than some of the other things… Everyone can see the touchdowns, but the unselfish play, the smart play he made was huge.

Brian Daboll said about Nabers after the win against the Cleveland Browns

Nabers played three seasons at LSU, racking up 189 catches for 3003 yards and 21 touchdowns. The Giants selected him as the 6th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
