Despite being the ‘toughest’ domestic competition in the world, Manchester City have made the Premier League their playground. The Cityzens have claimed six out of the last seven League titles, giving Liverpool the only remaining trophy. Despite all their dominance in recent years, Premier League legend and former Manchester United man Michael Owen has placed them fourth in his predictions for the League table.
With the likes of Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne & Phil Foden, it is difficult to see how any of their competitors will get the better of them in the 2024/25 campaign. Even though Arsenal may finally find a way to dethrone the men in blue, it was confusing for many that Owen placed them fourth. Adding to the surprise was the rest of the teams that he had in his top three.
In his list of predictions, the Englishman had Arsenal finishing first, with Liverpool as his runners-up. Surprisingly, Aston Villa was his pick for third-place while City finsihed fourth behind them.
Michael Owen is a Premier League champion and a Ballon d’Or winner during his time at Liverpool. He has scored a total of 158 goals in 297 appearances for the Reds.
Pep Guardiola responds as Manchester City set to be penalized for alleged 115 charges
Manchester City have 115 alleged charges to their name, with breaches dating back till the 2009/2010 season. Even though an investigation conducted by the League found them in the wrong, City have strongly denied any wrongdoing. With things standing the way they are, the club are set to be ‘penalized’ if found to be guilty in the next month.

As per reports, City’s hearing is set to begin on the 16th of September, with Premier League CEO Richard Masters also claiming that it’s time the case came to a resolution. Even though repercussions may even see the club be relegated from the top flight, Pep Guardiola has gone on the record to state his course of action.
I will absolutely not consider my future if it means being in the Premier League or the Championship.Pep Guardiola said in a press conference (via The Mirror)
He also added that there is more chance of him staying when in League One than in the Champions League. Guardiola had mentioned in the past that he was closer to leaving the club than he was to staying.
