Manchester City star and Norwegian international Oscar Bobb most recently, announced his intention to make his return to playing in January, following his recovery from an injury. The 21-year-old winger underwent surgery for the injury that he sustained prior to the season.

Oscar Bobb broke into the Manchester City first team last season, after a stellar campaign with the club’s under-21s. He made 24 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side, scoring two goals and providing two assists. He was expected to be among the front-runners to play in the right wing position, owing to his excellent dribbling skills and technical abilities. However, Bobb fractured his leg in an unfortunate training ground incident, during City’s pre-season tour to the US. This has kept him out for the last five months.

Oscar Bobb has most recently intensified his rehabilitation module, in order to make an early return. The 21-year-old is expected to make his return to first-team training by the end of the year. Speaking in an interview, the Norwegian youngster expressed his intent to start playing by January or February, next year.

Moreover, Bobb added that he has slowly started to run again, and is taking inspiration from the levels that he reached prior to the season. He expressed his determination to make it back into the squad.

I think hopefully at the end of January or the start of February I can be in and around the squad. I am getting back to fitness now, slowly but surely starting to run again.

Meanwhile, Oscaar Bobb’s last appearance was in the Community Shield final against Manchester United, where City emerged victorious on penalties. He had ended the match with an assist for Bernardo Silva. Man City also has Ruben Dias and Rodri out with long-term injuries.

Pep Guardiola’s woes continue, as Manchester City have now dropped to the 6th position on the EPL table. The Cityzens suffered their sixth defeat of the season, with Aston Villa securing a brilliant 2-1 win over the defending champions.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was the star of the match, as he scored one and assisted one to get his club back to winning ways. The 22-year-old forward set up Villa’s 16th minute opener, pairing up with goal-scorer Jhon Duran. Rogers then struck another goal in the 65th minute, slotting in from inside the box after a brilliant solo run. Phil Foden did score a late stoppage-time goal, but it was of no avail.

The win helped Unai Emery’s side leapfrog Man City to move to the 5th position on the EPL table. Guardiola’s men on the other hand, look far behind in the title race. It also marked the club’s ninth defeat in their last 12 matches.
