According to reports Manchester United and Manchester City table bids to Bayern Munich for David Alaba as contract extension talks breakdown

David Alaba

Bayern Munich chairman Karl Heinz-Rummenigge admitted that contract talks between David Alaba and the club have broken down. From January the Austrian will be free to talk to clubs to make a transfer next summer. Bayern Munich will lose him on a free transfer if they don’t have an agreement within the next 8 days.
Manchester clubs vying for his signature
Manchester City have been leaking a leader at the back since Vincent Kompany left them for Anderlecht. Ruben Dias has taken over leadership duties but a man of experience will always be an asset. David Alaba fits the criteria as he has played 12 years for Bayern Munich and has all the experience one can have. A solid rock at the back could make Manchester City near invulnerable as they once were.
Manchester United need an experienced centre-back who is also consistent at all times. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof aren’t the most reliable centre-backs you can have. With a reliable centre-back at the back, Manchester United can stop conceding the goals they concede and relieve the extra pressure on David De Gea.
If reports are true, it is a sensible move for both clubs to make as a club being stagnant will spell doom for them.
