Manchester United dished out a phenomenal performance to walk away with a 2-2 draw at Anfield. A strike from Lisandro Martinez opened the scoring for United. Cody Gakpo equalized for Liverpool while Mohamed Salah put them ahead from the penalty spot. However, Amad Diallo’s equalizer saw Manchester United salvage a point away from home.
The visitors could have logged all three points at Anfield had it not been for Harry Maguire’s late miss. A sitter arranged for Maguire from the right by a scampering Joshua Zirkzee missed its mark. Ruben Amorim, the Manchester United coach, heaped praise on the entire team for showing fighting spirit while also expressing his optimism in an oblique way.

The draw against Liverpool came as a massive sigh of reprieve for Amorim. Coming into this fixture, United was on a four-match losing streak, losing against Tottenham in the EFL Cup and against Bournemouth, Wolves, and Newcastle in the Premier League. With a win against Manchester City and a draw against Liverpool, Amorim will be hoping for positive results from here on.
Bruno Fernandes urges his teammate to show similar energy against other teams in the Premier League
Bruno Fernandes, who was on a bit of a bumpy form of late, opened up about Manchester United’s draw against Liverpool. Talking to Sky Sports, Fernandes made it clear that the draw doesn’t do them the required honours. He wanted the same display from the United players with each passing gameweek.
"Why can't we do this EVERY week?!"

With fears of relegation surfacing after a defeat against Newcastle United, this draw against Liverpool will serve as a fresh bout of air for the Red Devils. They face Arsenal next in an FA Cup fixture, which is also going to be a tough test for Ruben Amorim. However, he will be hopeful of putting up a strong show against the Gunners, who will be without Bukayo Saka.
