Manchester United’s season has already been in tatters and unless there is a miraculous turnaround, things might only go bleaker from here. In a bid to flip around the fortunes, Ruben Amorim might be compelled to break his own word of not raiding the top players of Sporting CP as pledged earlier.

As reported by the Mirror, Ruben Amorim has urged Manchester United to sign Sporting CP striker, Viktor Gyokeres. Despite worries about the price tag of Gyokeres, United is all set to offload three big stars which might open up the gates. With Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Antony being on the spectrum of exit, Amorim will eye his most trusted general to join United.

Manchester United had earlier plans of landing Gyokeres. However, that was slated to be in next summer. But with the equation heading into an uncontrollable nosedive, the request from Amorim has come ahead of the winter window itself. The report also stated that there might have been a ‘no’ from the authorities as the funds haven’t been great enough.

This has already been a season to remember for Gyokeres. With 17 matches played across all competitions, the Swedish striker has fired home 21 goals. Apart from his netters, he has also carved three assists, leading the charge for Sporting Lisbon emphatically. Manchester United, on the contrary, continue to scramble for their best attacking options with consistent changes to the playing XI.

Juventus expresses interest in Manchester United star Joshua Zirkzee – Reports

Joshua Zirkzee was involved in a quick substitution against Newcastle United. He was replaced in the 33rd minute by Kobbie Mainoo, which has led to countless speculations. Zirkzee’s numbers haven’t been great enough as he has only managed to score four goals from the 27 games that he has played so far. As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus want to onboard Zirkzee.

However, the entirety of the deal will depend on how Manchester United goes about their pursuit of the Portuguese striker, Viktor Gyokeres. Unless, there is a dire need of the funds, United might not be committed to selling Zirkzee, considering the fact, that Ruben Amorim pins his hopes on youngsters.

As of now, Juventus only wants to land Zirkzee on a loan basis and not a permanent deal which might be the primary target of United. A return back to Italy could benefit the Dutch international regain his form. Only the end of the winter transfer window will reveal what happens next.
